Every time I budget for the year, there is always, and I mean ALWAYS something that comes up that entices me to spend my money differently. I’ve been away from social for a few months to focus on financial and mental wellness but saw in one of my friend group chats that Beyonce was going on tour! Now, I love Beyonce like the next girl and for a brief minute (a day), I debated highly considered and was making plans to go. But then, the little voice in the back of my head was like “that’s not part of our plan this year.” And I went with it. Because that little voice has never led me astray. The thought of spending I don’t know how much money on tickets, along with travel to the city, other expenses for such a weekend was poposprous to me. I understand seeing her is something you probably want to add to your “in my lifetime, I got to see her in concert” list – I’ve already been to two concerts of hers in my lifetime so I’m going to wait for Renaissance on possibly a Netflix special she releases 😬 Also, she has hers (💰), I’m still trying to get mine ~ all of it!
Now, I get it for some folks, if you got it, spend it! Ball out on the exclusive packages if you will. But if you have some other goals that don’t fall in line with the spending required here, listen to your still small voice too ~ it never leads us astray. I thought I’d provide a quick 5 punch list of things you could take the money you’re about to purchase a weekend trip on Yonce tickets with and place elsewhere to further your financial dreams:
- Groceries (so you can stop eating out 🍔)
- A high yield savings account (just because it’s nice to see your money GROW 🌱)
- Start a Life Insurance policy (this deserves a whole other post, coming 🔜)
- Pay an extra payment (on those pesky and petty Credit Cards 💳 – because if it isn’t interest free, I mean WHY though, don’t give your hard earned money away, friend)
- Invest in yourself (whether spending on your own business, or an educational course, you are your very best investment, treat yourself as so 🪄)
While doing ALL of the above, play that Renaissance album in the background, make it a party!
Yours Truly,
Crystal
